Professional Experience:
Mr. Ortega is a founding partner of Palacios, Ortega
y Asociados. He is a member of the Human Resources
Committee of the Venezuelan American Chamber (VENANCHAM),
of the Consejo Nacional de Promoción de Inversiones
(CONAPRI), and of FEDECAMARAS – Federación
de Cámaras y Asociaciones de Comercio y de
Producción de Venezuela.
Mr. Ortega’s legal practice is concentrated
in labor law matters and contracts.
Mr. Ortega was founding Professor of the Labor Law
chair at Universidad Metropolitana in 1974; he has
been legal counsel for the Universidad Metropolitana,
Counsel for Fundación Eugenio Mendoza, Advisor
of Fundación Venezolana para la Parálisis
Infantil, Director of Metalúrgica Mendoza,
Estampados Carabobo, OCI-Metalmecanica, Royal Carabobo
and Comercial Venremen. In addition, Mr. Ortega
has been Alternate Director of VenWorld Telecom,
C.A., a liquidated company that was the major shareholder
of the privatized Venezuelan telephone company,
and PATAGON.COM. Mr. Ortega received a Unique Decoration
from the Colegio de Abogados del Distrito Federal
in 2004.
